Among the 30 demonstrations scheduled to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Taoist Tai Chi Society in Spain, last week we had a very special one. 108 members from the Catalonia branch went to Montserrat, the Magic Mountain. The demo took place on 10/11/12 at 13 h.
Montserrat is a multi-peaked mountain located near the city of Barcelona, in Catalonia, Spain. It is well known as the site of the Benedictine abbey, Santa Maria de Montserrat, which hosts the Virgin of Montserrat sanctuary and which is identified by some with the location of the Holy Grail in Arthurian myth. Virgin of Montserrat (the black virgin known as La Moreneta), is Catalonia’s favorite saint.
In 2004, Montserrat called a meeting of more than 400 religious leaders from around the world. This meeting preceded the 4th edition of the Parliament of the World’s Religions that took place in Barcelona. Master Moy attended the 2nd edition of this event held in Chicago in 1993.
Practicing tai chi in such a special, spiritual place was moving and magic. We’d like to share with all of you our feelings.
