Cultural Exchange, Costa Rican–Style

The Costa Rica club hosted its first international night on Saturday, October 30, with members and family guests enjoying cultural exchange in the form of food, stories, photos, music and some impromptu dancing. Members originally from Columbia, Netherlands, Scotland, Switzerland, and the USA, prepared a meal with traditional dishes, and brought presents of artwork, tulips, apple tart, biscuits, and a hat for the raffle. We started by showing the Society’s 40th Anniversary video, played music from each country during the meal, and ended with a picture show accompanied by music and commentary that provided insight into the respective countries character and customs. A great time was enjoyed by all.
