The members of the Vancouver branch and the Pacific Region of the Taoist Tai Chi Society of Canada take great pleasure in inviting Taoist Tai Chi-ers everywhere to National Seniors Week 2012, from May 28 to June 1, in Vancouver.
Sunset over Burnaby Mountain
We are working out the final details of what promises to be an event worthy of the provincial tourism slogan, “SuperNatural British Columbia” and an even worthier for the Taoist Tai Chi slogan “Renovate Your Body.”
The workshop will be held in a magical setting atop Burnaby Mountain on the campus of Simon Fraser University, famous for its architecture and its views of the Coastal Range mountains and the fertile Fraser Valley. Individual rooms will be available on campus, and there will be accessible facilities for health recovery participants. There are a very few hotel room-style accommodations for couples on a first-come, first-served basis, who may wish to pay a slight surcharge for the workshop . Check-in will be on Sunday, May 27; basic cost of the week will be $500 per person, which includes a T-shirt, accommodation, meals, workshop, and special events still in the planning stages.
The week will include plenty of health-giving Taoist Tai Chi and a bus tour of some of the sights and sounds of beautiful metro Vancouver. We are also identifying optional tour packages—think mountains, forests, beaches, ocean, and Tai Chi —before and after the workshop for participants who would like to plan a unique vacation around National Seniors Week. Every TTCS branch in the Pacific Region will be involved in offering hospitality to traveling members and their families, and we are scheduling a regional workshop to be held at a location in the coastal rainforest to be named later, in conjunction with National Seniors Week. Stay tuned for details.
