Midwest Branch Maps the World with Tai Chi

Members of the Western Suburbs of Chicago and Arlington Heights locations of the Midwest Branch took part in a National Geographic Giant Traveling Maps exhibit of the map of Asia at Edison Elementary School in Elmhurst, Illinois recently. The DuPage County PTA invited the Taoist Tai Chi Society USA to demonstrate and teach Tai Chi to represent the contributions of China. The giant vinyl floor map is 26 feet by 33 feet so children and their parents and teachers can stand in the different countries. Over the span of a week. Society members taught early morning Tai Chi classes at the school, did demos for about 4,000 students, parents and staff from the entire county during a daylong event and were part of an evening festival that include a Lion Dance and opportunities to let children, parents and staff sample Tai Chi. Many great contacts were made and several people who met us as part of the event came to our Open House in the Western suburbs the next week.
