A Grand Opening in Wellington, New Zealand

A blessing from a traditional Chinese Lion Dance helped make the Grand Opening of the Lower Hutt clubrooms in New Zealand a big success.

About 80 people, including Hutt City Mayor Ray Wallace, Margaret Willard (Councillor) and Alison McKone (Deputy Chair of the Central Community Committee), attended the celebrations on Saturday, March 10 at our new leased space in the centre of the city. Members of the National Board of the Taoist Tai Chi Society of New Zealand were also present for the festivities. Mayor Wallace said how pleased he was to have the society as part of the community and wished us all the best for the future. We were blessed with beautiful weather, and best wishes, presents and flowers from many locations throughout New Zealand. A demonstration set was performed with a commentary on the health benefits. A light lunch of dumplings, fish cakes and Asian noodle salad was prepared by members and served to our guests.

This was a significant milestone for the Wellington Branch as we endeavour to bring the health benefits of Taoist Tai Chi to more people in the community. We invite you all to come and visit one day.
