This afternoon, the Sarasota Branch enjoyed our first Spring Sip and Savor wine, chocolate and cheese tasting event. Over fifty members and guests enjoyed a delicious selection of fine wines and cheeses with a variety of crackers—and chocolate, of course. In addition, for the health conscious, there were raw veggies with curried mayo, fresh strawberries and grapes.
Guests gathered in the banquet hall where the organizing committee had outdone themselves with table cloths and beautiful fresh tulips. Food was donated by a local organic and natural food emporium. A raffle and silent auction of a beautiful print contributed to proceeds, which will go to scholarships for members to attend workshops.
As a special treat in the midst of these festivities, we also celebrated a “dragon lady’s” auspicious golden birthday.
Given the success of this event, we expect to repeat it annually.
